Where are good places to learn ballroom dancing in Dallas, Texas?

I’m a teen (16) and I have no partner. Is that okay? I want to learn Latin dances, like the chacha, jive, salsa, etc.
And preferably in east/central Dallas, too.
Thanks a lot!

Check out usadance.org, especially the "Chapters" section for dance studios in your area and go visit a few until you find one you like. You don’t need a partner to do social dancing just for fun and meeting people. But if you’re interested in Latin, you’re probably interested in the sexy outfits which means you want to compete. If that’s the case, make sure you find a studio which is focused on competition, aka dancesport, rather than social dancing. Take some group classes to learn the basic steps and you’ll be rotated through different partners in class. If you find someone you think might work, ask them if they want to practice what you’re learning after class, and take it from there. The other route is to start taking private lessons, then ask your teacher to find you a partner. Teachers talk to each other and know who’s looking for partners and may be able to help. Finally, you can also try dancepartner.com although you may have better luck with the first two methods since it seems most people on dancepartner.com have a few years experience or more.
Good luck, and have fun!
